The Challenge
Complete a 32,200 sf addition to an existing 2 story modular building to house 538 students.
Do it in four months and maintain the budget.
The Solution
A traditional construction method involving steel frame and concrete was covered with hardi-panel exterior to match Phase I modular panels. The middle school has 14 regular classrooms, a media center, 3 science rooms, 2 art rooms, 3 reading rooms and a cafeteria.
The Ksixteen Difference
Speed - Despite a delayed design process and a tight budget that could not afford cost overruns, Ksixteen completed the project using conventional construction on-time and on-budget without sacrificing quality of construction.
Efficiency - Modular construction is often perceived to be the most expedient way to deliver a project with a timeline this short. Ksixteen carefully evaluated the use of modular construction versus new build and found new build to be less expensive and able to maintain the same timeline, thereby providing the most cost effective solution.
